Recently I joined my friend’s LS so I am now finally able to do the party-based quests!
As soon as I get over my problems of asking other people for help (´･ω･｀)
Anyways first thing I did was the r25 Ifrit quest as a r42 conjurer ( ･∇･)ﾉ
Seriously, it took me this long because I couldn’t bring myself to ask for help XD;;
First thing showed in this scene are the bodies of fallen adventurers after coming back from being defeated by Ifrit, or at least that’s what I’m assuming. There was this Roegadyn carrying a wounded Lalafell, it was kind of cute in a very depressing way. Louisoix then started telling me to be careful when fighting against Ifrit, I think, he was talking so much that I didn’t really pay attention…
We go through the aetherial node next to Louisoix and are transported into the Bowl of Embers which is rather empty. One by one the torches surrounding the area begin to lit and Ifrit appears before us.
But!
Since I was watching the cutscenes, I don’t know if this affected it or not, by the time I finished the Ifrit summoning cutscene, my fellow lsmates had killed Ifrit so I never saw the battlefield and instead it cut to the next cutscene.
Hurray for doing nothing!
My victory celebration was cut short as I began seeing something in the distance.
Very blurry people. The Garleans!
They stopped, and the person in the shining armor began speaking. He congratulated me on defeating Ifrit and asked for the name of the person who dared defied a god.
You’re giving two choice here. Either you give him your name or you say your name is unimportant. I went with unimportant. Like Louisoix, Nael Van Darnus talks a lot but I actually paid attention to what he was saying.
“You would have me remember you by your deeds alone? Very well! I daresay they will linger longer in the memory than a mere name. Ah, but where are my manners? I have not yet introduced myself. I am Nael Van Darnus, Legatus of the VIIth Imperial Legion. I come bearing the light of salvation to the people of Eorzea.”
He doesn’t seem so bad, he’s rather polite and our names are kind of the same…he’s just missing a Z ( ･∇･)ﾉ
“It warms my heart to know that there are still those who would attempt to preserve life upon this forsaken continent. And by the blood of fallen eikons, no less.A noble struggle, I grant you, but one that is sadly beyond hope. Alone, you stand no chance of survival. None. If you are to prevail, you must needs accept the outstretched hand of salvation—the hand of the Garlean Empire.”
Huh, well this all just seems silly guys, the Garleans only want to help us.
Wait a minute, did he just called Eorzea a forsaken continent?…
“I know full well your people see the Empire as little more than a covetous beast, hungry for territory. But naught could be further from the truth. The world is stricken by an evil blight, her peoples given to despair. Seeing this, the Empire was moved…Yet know that the light is unbending, its judgement absolute. By its illumination, all is laid bare—the world revealed in truest form.
The bold shall inherit the world, and the beautiful shall rule it! So shall light decreed, and so it must be!
Only then shall the land be free of chaos!”
When you put it like that, the light doesn’t sound so appealing…
Also you wear a helm so I refuse to believe you’re beautiful! However, there are theories going around that you might be an elezen, in that case you are beautiful by default ( ･∇･)ﾉ
“Ne’er till land consumes sun can sea bear moons,
Heavens spew crimson flame, hells seep black dooms.
But I will not blame you for your forefathers’ negligence. Permit me to explain it as I might to a child of Garlemald.”
He then proceeded to destroy the node, causing my screen to fade into a flashing white. Since I was doing this at night, with the lights off, and the brightness on my screen was particularly high that day…Nael Van Darnus blinding me with justice ;n;
Also Zanel was glaring at the node for other reasons…
After this, I kind of forgot what happened afterwards, I think the highlight of this quest was meeting Nael Van Darnus, oh and Ifrit!
I relay what Nael told me to Louisoix who is shocked and says he now wants to talk to Cid. Then I go back to Limsa and tell Guincum what I discovered. At first he was angry that I didn’t bring Louisoix like I was supposed to, but at hearing that he willingly came to Limsa to speak with Cid, he seemed okay with it.
“A pity Van Darnus’s uninvited appearance rendered all of your efforts void. Still, your account of events suggests to me that Louisoix is indeed the genuine article. In which case…you were supposed to bring him here.I thought I had made it abundantly clear what was meant by invite.
There’s no help for it now.”
I know, I’m such an idiot! ( ･∇･)ﾉ
Oh Guincum, that’s what you get for trusting me of all people to bring someone against their will. I still want your clothes ;u;
